Docent Tours of the Historic Falls Church 5 pm – 7 pm Special Tours offered by knowledgable docents trace the rich history from the rom the front stairs where the Declaration of Independence was read and was a recruiting station for soldiers in the Revolutionary War and a hospital in the Civil War…see and hear the wonderful story of our City’s treasured historic Falls Church.
MUSIKANTEN 7 pm – 8 pm Musikanten, new to Watch Night, has been singing annually at local New Year’s Eve celebrations since 1991 in Annapolis MD, the first First Night in the DC area. For Falls Church Watch Night, they will sing William Byrd’s iconic Mass for 4 Voices – they think there is no better way to greet the new year than with the final words of the mass: Dona nobis pacem – give us peace. This is a professional group that travels the world doing not only Renaissance music but that of the 20th and 21st century composers.
