‘Watch Night’ in Falls Church

When: Dec. 31, 7 p.m.-12 a.m.

Where: Intersection of Broad Street (Rt. 7) and Washington Street (Rt. 29), Falls Church

This is not your typical New Year’s Eve bash—it’s better! Happening for the 15th year in a row, the City of Falls Church will host their “Watch Night New Year’s Eve Celebration” tonight. Named as the “coolest New Year’s Eve event” for families in the D.C. metro area by the Washington Post Express, this event is sure to be a hit for everyone of all ages.

“Watch Night” refers to the African tradition of “watching” in the New Year. However, there’s not going to be much watching when there are so many activities for the whole family to enjoy while waiting for the clock to strike midnight.

This New Year’s Eve event resembles more of a winter fair then anything. Enjoy live bands, a 20-piece orchestra, a live DJ, karaoke, swing dancing, a caricaturist, puppet shows, scavenger hunt, face painters, balloon artists, a Velcro wall and a moonbounce.
