By on December 29, 2015

WATCH NIGHT, Falls Church’s New Year’s Eve celebration is pleased to announce THE KENSINGTON FALLS CHURCH as a new Lead Sponsor of the 20th Annual Watch Night Falls Church, joining the City of Falls Church and The Little City CATCH Foundation.

The premise of this 20th annual community event is that it is free and family friendly, fun for all ages; made possible by the many community groups, organizations, businesses, and churches that volunteer time, talent and donate funds, materials, space and energy to make it all happen.  Watch Night is currently the only community event in the downtown business district.

This year’s 20th Annual Watch Night features many bands and a wide variety of musical performances: Roots, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Big Band, and Motown Sound. WN is for those who are seeking a fun, free family event.  A free Watch Night Shuttle runs from the East Falls Church Metro Station (7 pm to 1 a.m.). There is lots of free parking (E. Broad Sts at The Falls Church and Falls Church Presbyterian Church) – see website map- with family friendly venues – Watch Night Falls Church is the place to be on NYE.

Watch Night offers free balloons and popcorn, hot chocolate and other goodies throughout the evening including lots of amusements and music:  rock wall climbing, bungee jumps, fun obstacle courses for the whole family and many other colorful inflatable amusements for all ages, puppet shows, dancing, karaoke, Main Stage Live Music, featuring Sudden M Pac, Alpha Dog Blues Band, and Eastern All Star Jazz Quintet.

Caricaturists, Facepainters, Balloon Artists, and Puppet Shows are featured at the Falls Church Presbyterian Church along with Cowboy Hay and Northern Lights Big Band Orchestra.

There are lots of great photo opportunities, including LOVE letters which will return to The Crossroads in front of George Mason Square. The LOVE letters are a program of the Virginia is For Lovers campaign conducted by the Virginia Tourism Council.  Warming stations include outdoor fireplaces, fire pits that are provided by Sisler’s Stone.   Volunteers will be on hand throughout the venues and even to take photos with the visitor’s own phone or camera at the LOVE venue.

Watch Night 2017 will also include “I wish I could….” Chalkwalk sponsored by Falls Church Arts as well as new foodvendors and musical performances.

Be part of it all and join us at Watch Night Falls Church, a great New Year’s Eve experience for all ages!
